VOLUNTEER

Band Boosters support the Kennedale High School Band in every aspect, from games and competitions to trips and behind-the-scenes activities. None of this would be possible without volunteers, and your involvement is crucial to enhancing your child's band experience. Volunteering is also a great opportunity to connect with other parents and gain a unique perspective on your child's time in the band. There are various ways to contribute, and it all begins with volunteering.

GET INVOLVED

STEP 1 - EXPLORE VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Volunteer opportunites

CONCESSIONS - HOME GAMES

Concessions are a vital part of fundraising for the band. Volunteers are needed to cook and prepare food, serve customers, set up, clean, and close down for each game. Help is required before, during, and after all games.

game day meals

Band students who have paid into the meal plan receive meals on game days. Volunteers will serve prepared or catered meals and handle the cleanup of the areas used for meal distribution and consumption.

CoMPETITION MEALS

Volunteers assist with preparing, serving, and cleaning up meals from catered sources or those cooked on-site. This includes setting up and breaking down any additional equipment needed, often at remote locations based on specific event requirements.

water coolers

Water distribution at games, contests, and events is crucial. Volunteers will prepare coolers and water jugs, transport them to the venue, and distribute water when needed. This role is perfect for family members who want to volunteer together.

photography

A volunteer is needed to serve as a photographer and/or videographer for all events and activities. This person curates and submits media for the band's web platforms and coordinates media for press and publications.

spirit decorations

This group handles event decorations (e.g., Homecoming, Senior Squares), letter jackets, and the sale and distribution of spirit items and other band merchandise.

equipment TRANSPORT

Volunteers in this group handle loading, unloading trailers, assembling, disassembling, and field repair of props and equipment for home games, away games, and competitions.

uniform CLOSET

Volunteers handle fitting, altering, and distributing marching and concert uniforms, including hats, gloves, socks, and ponchos. They also organize uniform cleaning and storage. Sewing skills are appreciated but not required.

chaperones

Chaperones are responsible for the safety of students during events, contests, and games. They serve as a resource for students, providing supervision and offering feedback to Boosters and Directors.

props & field equipment

Each year a parent team is formed to help concept and create props for the upcoming year's marching show.

props & field equipment

Volunteers are needed to help move front ensemble equipment, props, podiums, yard markers etc. on to the field for each performance

FUNDRAISING

If you are unable to volunteer your time, monetary donations are in constant need for items such as uniform cleaning, feeding the band, competition fees, show design, instruments and repair.
